HI!

Can you just explain me why a task has to be activated? Or is there a way to activate it automatically?

When you create new Task in IBN, you can choose "Activation type":

If you select:
"Check for dependences"  your Task will start automatically after a previous relationship Task (predecessor) is completed or in accordance with the start date if no relation is set.
Please note: in this case two conditions must work:
1) the Task`s start date must come
2) predecessor (previous relationship Task) must be completed (both together)
"Automatically without any checks"  your Task will start automatically as soon as start date comes or the predecessor (the previous relationship Task) is completed (not both together)
"Manually" your Task will start only after manual activation.

Am I right that tasks which are not activated yet are not shown in the list of things to do on user's My Work page?

When task becomes active, it's displayed in the "Tasks/ToDos given to me" block on "My Work" page. If task is not active yet, but its start date is coming in two next weeks, it will be displayed in the "My Work" block as well. It depends on task/ToDo's priority.
