There are several areas of IBN where the user's name is displayed as Last First. For instance on the main banner across the top after logging in as well as when an e-mail is sent to the user ("Dear Brown Randy,").
We would like it to display the first name before the last name. Can we do this? Or do we have to put the first name in the last name field in order for the name to be displayed correctly?

Unfortunately it is impossible to change Last name - First Name order in the portal (though it is allowed for IBN Client view). In your case it can be organized as you'd described: to put the first name in the last name field in order for the name to be displayed correctly.
